"My 'self' is no longer de-contextualised - it is now a construct based around my understanding of others I meet; my perceived identity follows these encounters. I speak with the voice of everybody and everything I have confronted, and have subsequently folded into my own 'individuality'. The individual, my 'self' becomes a unified community of others."
Self meets Other is an experimental piece of design that encourages discussion between two individuals, in an attempt to reconsider the concept of identity. Fragments of typographic and visual narratives are divided between the participants, who are then asked to draw connections between the two. As these two people take part in their discussion, their note making shows a dialectic at work - eventually coming to synthesise when the connection between cards is found.
