Submitted for a creative invite on Talenthouse
As a huge No Doubt fan, I decided to create something that represented the band, not only for their new album, but also where they have come from to get here.
The circular shape references a badge you'd stitch onto the sleeve of your jacket, the Anaheim sun or the open window on the front of the Tragic Kingdom album cover. The black and white is just for Gwen herself, as I know she loves the monotone stripe motif. The patterns reference ska and tropical design features, while still having a vibe of the early nineties computer graphics. The orange in the centre speaks for itself, becoming more iconic in its simplicity.
The typography is simple and bold, allowing the logo to take centre stage.
I wanted the logo to be bold, unique and eye catching, yet still capture the individual elements that inspired it, just like the band itself.
