"If I was your woman, the things I'd do to you. But I'm not, so I can't, then I won't, but if I was your girl."

Using the anthemic track by Janet Jackson - the word 'If' is used as the open ended proposition put forward for sexual exploration. 'If I was your woman' becomes the statement placed at the feet of her would-be lover, the possibilities become endless; the seduction happening only in the lacking state of 'possibility' and fantasy. The person speaking could be male, they could be female. They could be truthful, they could be deceitful. If is multi-faceted. The style is purposely reflective of this lack. The statement is ambiguous, empty and ready to be filled with possibility. I give you two options; each as 'valid' as one another. What are they offering (us and one another?). The work is a statement on the non-real, but ever present online love affairs of the contemporary world; where words are meaningless and sent out into space without consequence or action.
